About The Position

This position supports department objectives by operating a stamping press and working alongside press associates to complete daily tasks safely and productively. The operator helps prepare presses for work, maintain dies and the press area, monitor inventory, and uphold company quality standards.

Requirements

• Two years of manufacturing experience using machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Forklift certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of metal stamping operations, including automatic feed punch press lines, tooling, progressive dies, and quick die changes on presses up to 250 tons.
• Familiarity with computer data-entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manufacturing Lead with press efficiency and productivity.
• Help prepare for the start of work and ensure presses are ready.
• Post work orders for the following day at the end of each workday.
• Maintain safety standards in the press area and notify the Manufacturing Lead about unsafe conditions or associates not working safely or productively.
• Ensure dies are set up to meet production demand; perform daily die setups and maintain dies for quick changeovers.
• Keep the press area clean and orderly throughout the day, complete daily cleanup, and empty scrap bins as needed.
• Keep the bulk storage area clean and organized.
• Assist the Lead with press room inventory; conduct monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventories as needed and maintain accurate physical counts of products.
• Maintain company quality standards, observe the quality of production leaving the press area, and notify the Lead of quality issues and help correct them as necessary.
