About The Position

Charter Wire’s 81st Street facility is seeking a Stamping Operator to operate and monitor stamping equipment producing specialized parts for global customers. The position runs and monitors up to four sets of stamping machines and helps keep production moving while meeting customer quality requirements. The facility offers production employees multiple levels to pursue as they develop. A structured onboarding and training program supports employees’ success, and team members are expected to build trust and support one another.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED equivalent, or willingness to obtain a GED.
Basic oral and written communication, reading, and computer literacy skills.
Attention to detail, basic problem-solving skills, and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work well with other employees and contribute to a positive team environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience entering data into an enterprise resource planning (ERP) or statistical process control (SPC) system.
Experience using quality measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and attribute gauges, as well as basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor up to four sets of stamping machines.
Inspect parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
Troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
Perform routine operator and preventative maintenance.
Move materials, products, supplies, and scrap.
Complete quality checks and production records.
Keep the work area clean and safe.
Partner with Set-Up Operators, Quality, and Maintenance to keep production moving and improve equipment performance.
Help train other operators as needed.
