About The Position

The Stainless Steel Tanker Maintenance Technician performs repairs, inspections, welding, and fabrication on specialized equipment to support safe and productive operations. The role maintains air, electrical, and hydraulic systems and performs work on specialized equipment such as MC-306/406 tank trailers, aluminum trailers, and DOT 407 and 412 trailers. Work may include confined-space tasks while communicating with an attendant. The technician completes repair records accurately and on time, follows safety procedures, and maintains a clean and safe work environment. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to enter a 20-inch man-way hole.
• Broad understanding of welding procedures and tools, including their designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to read and listen to assignments presented in a variety of forms.
• Broad knowledge of MIG and TIG welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision in routine situations.
• Broad understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools used to produce precise technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan non-routine layouts requiring analysis.

Nice To Haves

• Equipment maintenance and repair experience.
• Welding and/or fabrication skills or experience.
• Confined Space Training and Certification.
• DOT-registered Inspector certification, or ability to obtain it.
• HM-183 Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex inspections, diagnostic tests, and preventive maintenance.
• Perform complex work on specialized equipment, including MC-306/406 tank trailers, aluminum trailers, and DOT 407 and 412 trailers.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic problems on equipment.
• Perform or assist lower-level employees with installations as scheduled and meet relevant deadlines.
• Perform complex welding and fabrication using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
• Work in confined spaces while communicating with an attendant.
• Maintain efficiency so scheduled jobs can be completed within designated time frames.
• Complete paperwork and enter equipment-repair data accurately and promptly.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned or needed.
