About The Position

Stagehand work is part-time on an as-needed basis. Shifts are offered to employees, and employees accept or decline the shift. Employees will perform a multitude of physical tasks to change over the facility – both Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center – from event to event. The person assists in the assembly and disassembly of show productions through load-in, load-out, and operating events. Cross-training will happen in various departments, including Electrics, Sound, Carpentry, Properties, Wardrobe, Video, Backline, Pusher, and Truck Loader.

Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move at least 50lbs. repeatedly
  • Capable of following instructions and work closely with others
  • Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment where multiple tasks will occur simultaneously
  • Available to work varying hours to include nights, weekends, and occasionally holidays
  • Employee is exposed to cold temperatures and elevated noise levels depending on the time of year that the event is occurring
  • Able to adhere to local and national PPE equipment requirements, up to and including testing and mask mandates
  • Work Boots preferably steel toed, work gloves, and adjustable wrench

Nice To Haves

  • Technically minded/knowledge of show production is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload crates and equipment from trucks, which can include handling items that weigh up to several hundred pounds.
  • Assembling production equipment
  • Construction of set pieces, risers, musical equipment, etc
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisor(s) and co-workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
