About The Position

The Level III Technician will provide services including but not limited to theatrical rigging, lighting, sound reinforcement, computer media/projection, scenic installation as well as positive customer relations. Level III Technician may serve as "Manager On Duty", and will work closely with Technical Production Manager & Assistant Manager pertaining to the responsibilities of equipment maintenance and all inventory upkeep, operations of the theater lighting and sound consoles, advancing bookings, and maintaining the safe, tolerant, and inclusive performance environment of The Salvation Army Joan B. Kroc Theater.

  • Problem solving with a positive and professional attitude, & consulting with Manager when situationally necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services including theatrical rigging, lighting, sound reinforcement, computer media/projection, and scenic installation.
  • Serve as "Manager On Duty" when Technical Production Manager or Assistant Manager are not available.
  • Work closely with Technical Production Manager & Assistant Manager on equipment maintenance and inventory upkeep.
  • Operate theater lighting and sound consoles.
  • Advance bookings.
  • Maintain a safe, tolerant, and inclusive performance environment.
  • Take a leadership role in theater operations as instructed.
  • Work independently.
  • Retain working knowledge of theater technical inventory.
  • Design & install lighting and sound reinforcement systems.
  • Read lighting plots, mic plots, hang and patch equipment.
  • Facilitate lighting, sound, & stage operations during technical and dress rehearsals, as well as productions.
  • Provide clients with technical input to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Instruct others in basic console & equipment operations.
  • Maintain and assess theater lighting, sound, and rigging equipment.
  • Maintain and operate theater counterweighted fly system.
  • Maintain safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe work environment, reporting any issues to Technical Production Manager.
  • Work cooperatively with Kroc Program Dir, Mgr, Supr, & staff to facilitate the technical needs of Kroc Center Ministries, Kroc Programs, & Event rentals.
