About The Position

The Stage Manager plays a key leadership role in the planning, organization, and execution of school performances, including plays, musicals, concerts, assemblies, and other stage events. They work closely with the director, cast members, and technical crew to coordinate rehearsals, maintain production schedules, and ensure that every part of the performance is prepared and ready. Responsibilities include organizing rehearsal notes, communicating important updates to cast and crew, managing backstage activities, coordinating scene changes, tracking props and costumes, assisting with lighting and sound cues, and calling cues during live performances. The Stage Manager helps create a safe, organized, and efficient environment where performers and crew members can do their best work. This position requires strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. The Stage Manager acts as the central point of communication during a production, making sure everyone understands their responsibilities and that the performance runs smoothly from the first rehearsal to the final curtain call. Through teamwork, attention to detail, and dedication, the Stage Manager helps transform creative ideas into a successful stage production. This position is part of the LEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
