About The Position

This position is for the full academic year and open to upperclassmen only. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS. Expected hours of work per week : 10-20 Work Location & Hours : Sanderson 215 6-9, some office work in Sanderson 208 during the day Qualifications for Position: Collaborates well with directorial team and crew to meet production deadlines Engage with their work with a positive attitude bent on problem-solving Flexibility with their workload and expectations, especially in time-sensitive situations Previous stage management and theater experience is a plus Hours are typically 10-15 hours/week, afternoons or evenings, usually more hours during tech and dress rehearsals, fewer hours at the end of a semester Expected Duties and Responsibilities: Work as a stage manager or assistant stage manager, typically on one show per semester Duties will vary with the needs of production and other crew members' assignments, which may include: running rehearsals, running production meetings, coordinating communication between production crew, coordinating communication between director and cast, running tech rehearsals, and calling the show. Assist with other aspects of production if necessary to work all awarded hours Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development, including identifying areas for continual growth while pursuing and applying feedback. Communication in the form of Communicate in a clear and organized manner so that others can effectively understand.
