This position is for the full academic year and open to upperclassmen only. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS. Expected hours of work per week : 10-15 Work Location & Hours : Sanderson 215 Qualifications for Position: Must meet production deadlines Must collaborate well with others Positive attitude and flexibility in the workplace Creative problem-solving, sometimes in time-pressure situations Willingness to learn construction methods and safety/training procedures using power tools Previous experience painting is a plus Hours are typically 10-15 hours/week, usually more hours during tech and dress rehearsals, fewer hours at the end of a semester Expected Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in set construction and painting for four productions a year Work to keep the backstage and storage areas clean and organized Duties will vary with the needs of a production, may include working backstage, helping with ticket sales, assisting with lights or sound, and other various tasks as needed with the agreement of the employee Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development including voluntarily participating in further education, training, or other events to support one's career.
