This position is for the full academic year. THIS POSITION IS FOR UPPERCLASSMEN ONLY. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS. Expected hours of work per week : 10-15 Work Location & Hours : Sanderson 211, typically between 9-5, some evenings during dress rehearsals and performances Qualifications for Position: Collaborates well with the team lead and the costume team to meet production deadlines Engage with their work with a positive attitude bent on problem-solving Flexibility with their workload and expectations, especially in time-sensitive situations Previous theatre experience is a plus Previous experience with hand or machine sewing is a plus Hours are typically 10-15 hours/week, afternoons or evenings, usually more hours during tech and dress rehearsals, fewer hours at the end of a semester Expected Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in costume construction, alterations, maintenance, and organization for three productions a year Work to keep the workroom and storage areas clean and organized Duties will vary with the needs of a production, may include working backstage, assisting with quick changes, measuring actors, styling hair, and applying makeup Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development, including i dentifying areas for continual growth while pursuing and applying feedback. Communication in the form of Communicating in a clear and organized manner so that others can effectively understand.
