About The Position

The Stage Hand assists with all backstage duties related to Jay Peak's summer music series. Duties include, but are not limited to, set-up of venue day before each show, un-loading and loading band/production gear, tear down of venue day after each show, any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Comfortable working outside in all forms of weather.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands & arms.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 100 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds or more.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Building stage and venue under supervision of product supervisor.
  • Unloading and loading band and production gear.
  • Tearing down stage and venue post-show under supervision of product supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.
