About The Position

The Stratford Festival is seeking a casual Stage Door Guard to monitor building security and respond to emergencies or urgent situations at its various properties. This role involves performing regular security tours, liaising with the public and staff, controlling access, and assisting with shipping/receiving and maintenance duties. The position is part of the Facilities team and reports to the Facilities management team. This is a casual coverage position for vacation and sick time, with no guarantee of hours.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Bondable with a valid Ontario Driver’s License
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job (regular light to moderate lifting and carrying, plus heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) and extended periods of walking)
• Possess a valid First Aid/CPR/AED Level C certificate
• Experience in security building patrols, security software and general security practice
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office
• Must be available to work rotating twelve-hour shifts
• Must be available evenings and weekends (including holidays)

Responsibilities

• Liaise with members of the public and internal staff
• Monitor and maintain security of all Stratford Festival buildings
• Complete communication logs
• Control parking and access to loading docks
• Shipping and receiving duties
• Lifting, bending, pushing and pulling boxes and packages
• Performing maintenance duties – Cleaning, room setup etc.
• Follow process and procedures related to Fire system monitoring and reporting
• Facilities Vehicle inspections
• Perform duties within Maintenance job classification as needed
