About The Position

Responsible for managing workforce logistics to include building rosters, filling open shifts, and resolving scheduling conflicts to ensure proper coverage. Must be available to be on call to work evenings, weekends, or holidays if needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Two (2) or more years of experience preferably in the mental health field or related scheduling experience.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
  • Exceptional multitasking, problem solving, and communication skills to handle fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
  • Eligibility through a Level II background screening with AHCA and DCF

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Roster Management of the crisis unit staffing in adult and children's services and the recovery room, keeping costs and agency use as low as possible. Creates, adjusts and monitors daily and long-term schedules using workforce software.
  • Responsible for Shift Fulfillment and identifying staffing shortages and proactively contacting PRN or Part-Time employees to fill open or unplanned shift vacancies. Also contacts other full time staff to cover shifts and agency staff as a last resort to ensure proper ratio coverage on the units.
  • Responsible for Conflict Resolution to handle last minute call-outs, resolve shift overlaps, and addresses any schedule related complaints from staff.
  • Prepares and maintains schedules at least 6 weeks in advance.
  • Ensures staff are notified when turn in any upcoming schedule requests for time off.
  • Works closely with the Critical Care Management Team and as such, understands that much of the information obtained must remain confidential until approved for disclosure by a member of the Management Team.
  • Works in conjunction with the Mental Health Technician Supervisors, Nursing Supervisor, and management in scheduling procedures to ensure continuous coverage of crisis units.
  • Redirects staff to the appropriate supervisor for all nonrelated scheduling issues and concerns.
  • Prepares call off report weekly for Directors and Chief Nursing Officer, e-mails to those as directed. Ensures schedule reflects call offs.
  • Keeps a tardy and call off list and submits to Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Behavioral Services weekly.
  • Monitors applications for candidates for potential interviews. Screens applicants and schedules interviews when appropriate. Notifies the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Behavioral Health of candidates’ interviews and may complete interviews with potential candidates.
  • Works with the management team and Staff Development Coordinator to ensure that employee schedules can be adjusted accordingly for orientation and ongoing in-service training classes.
  • Maintains current phone list of nurses and Mental health technicians.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
