About The Position

Our vision is a day when all people impacted by disabilities—and our employees—live well. The Staffing Manager plays a critical leadership role in making that vision a reality. This position provides consistent, high-quality staffing support across Living Well programs by evaluating open shifts and strategically assigning and placing Direct Support Professionals. Working closely with the Senior Director of Program Services, Regional Directors, and Program Managers, the Staffing Manager ensures staffing decisions align with program needs, organizational values, and our mission-driven commitment to the people we support.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass and maintain Department of Human Services background check with “qualified” status
  • Must not be excluded from participation in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of reliability
  • Proficiency with computer systems and office technology
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
  • Skills and abilities consistent with the Direct Support Professional role
  • Valid driver’s license and required auto insurance if using personal vehicle for work
  • Ability to successfully complete Living Well’s basic job skills assessment
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved for medical or religious exemption
  • Must meet Designated Coordinator qualifications (245D), including one of the following: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 year of direct care experience Associate degree in a related field and 2 years of direct care experience Diploma in a related field and 3 years of direct care experience OR 50+ hours of relevant training and 4 years of direct care experience Direct care experience must include supporting individuals with disabilities, older adults, or other vulnerable populations
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking) and have the ability to communicate with ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Program Managers to assess staffing needs and assign staff effectively across programs
  • Lead, support, and develop a diverse team of Float Direct Support Professionals through hiring, training, supervision, mentorship, timekeeping, and performance evaluation
  • Create, maintain, and adjust schedules for Float Direct Support Professionals
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with external temporary staffing agencies, including shift requests and communication
  • Ensure staff meet training and skill requirements prior to working in each program by collaborating with program, nursing, and therapy teams
  • Monitor and manage staffing-related budgets, including overtime and temporary agency usage
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and timely with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate as an active organizational team member by attending meetings, trainings, and providing backup coverage as needed
  • Foster a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive work environment for employees, vendors, and people supported
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable regulations (245D, ICF/DD, Positive Support Rule, etc.)
  • Utilize organizational tools and systems for communication, scheduling, record keeping, payroll, and reporting (SharePoint, Therap, Outlook, MITC, ADP, etc.)
  • Prepare and provide staffing data and reports related to shifts filled, overtime, and financial impact
  • Perform Direct Support Professional duties as needed
