About The Position

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for consulting with the Director of Nursing concerning staffing needs to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and improving services. This role ensures the facility is adequately staffed to meet resident needs, performs daily and monthly staffing, and creates staffing reports for the Executive Director. The coordinator also maintains attendance records, assists with staffing procedures, handles administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and answering phones, and audits nursing staff time. They are responsible for maintaining a clean and professional work environment, organizing and monitoring staffing operations, and ensuring all proposed agency staffing is approved by the Director of Nursing and Executive Director. Other job-related functions may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, prospects, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
  • Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
  • Knowledge/proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of staffing processes and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with the Director of Nursing concerning staffing needs to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services.
  • Ensure that the facility is adequately staffed to fulfill resident’s needs.
  • Perform daily and monthly staffing in accordance with management instructions.
  • Create and present staffing reports to the Executive Director on a timely basis.
  • Maintain attendance records accurately and timely and report concerns to the Director of Nursing.
  • Assist in reviewing and coordinating staffing procedures with the Director of Nursing.
  • Schedule appointments, answer phones, etc.
  • Keep the staffing needs met as directed.
  • Audit nursing staff time accurately and timely.
  • Maintain a work environment that is clean and presents a professional image.
  • Organize, evaluate and monitor staffing operations and assigned personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all proposed agency staffing will be approved by the Director of Nursing and Executive Director.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
