About The Position

The Staffing Coordinator is designated to ensure proper staffing for Nursing Admin. This role involves assessing daily staffing needs, managing call-ins, coordinating schedules, and providing administrative support within the nursing department. The position requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to maintain proficiency in various computer programs. The ideal candidate will be willing to train for advanced duties and possess emotional stability and resilience.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English.
  • Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
  • Be willing to train for more advanced duties or skills.
  • Requires emotional stability and resilience.
  • Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
  • Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 yr. similar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, evaluate and calculate daily staffing needs (to meet core staffing needs) of each inpatient unit in the organization.
  • Receive all employee (patient care areas) call-ins and adjust schedules to maintain suitable staffing levels.
  • Schedule and assign delivery and pick up for the Courier.
  • Staff and document charges for all inpatient 1:1 sitters.
  • Receive transfer request from outside facility and coordinates with House Supervisor, Hospitalist, and Specialist to facilitate transfer.
  • Coordinate and distribute Pizza for Pizza Fridays.
  • Filing/organizing paperwork.
  • Receiving and faxing work excuses to HR.
  • Ordering office supplies.
  • Ordering patient nutrition for after hours.
  • Tracking durable medical equipment (SCD machines, wound vacs, etc.)
  • Maintain proficient skills in multiple programs including: Ansos, Paragon, Trauma case alert, ESF8 portal, LERN, One Content, Excel, Word, Outlook email, Resource Scheduling, Bed watch etc.
  • Provide payroll support to the Nursing payroll department.
  • Assist the House Supervisor with Surgery /GI/Cath lab call outs.
  • Assists House Supervisor with PICC/Midline gate keeping.
  • Occasionally provides staffing support to the ED, Rehab, Memorial Specialty, Same Day Surgery, and Archer Institute.
