The Staffing Coordinator is the primary individual responsible for developing and managing the shift-to-shift staffing plan for Acute Care Services at the Topeka campus. This role supports two core functions—staffing and scheduling—by maintaining real time awareness of staffing needs and available resources across acute care service areas. Serving as a key operational resource, the Staffing Coordinator collaborates closely with the Command Center and the Administrative Director of Acute Care Services to analyze workload, assess staffing variances, and recommend appropriate staffing and scheduling strategies. The position functions as the central point of contact for staffing related communication, proactively notifying staff of open shifts, coverage needs, and schedule changes. Through timely, clear, and professional communication using approved channels, the Staffing Coordinator supports adequate staffing levels, continuity of patient care, and overall operational efficiency.
