A Staffing Assistant is responsible for the coordination and management of daily staffing for the health system's inpatient nursing units. This would include monitoring schedules and unit census in Kronos Navigator, adjusting schedules and assigning appropriate staff to appropriate units, finding replacement staff for call-ins. The management of providing sitters for unit requests for sitters. Must be able to operate well under stress and make appropriate high-level staffing decisions with minimal supervision. Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Have advanced computer and people skills. A Staffing Assistant is responsible for the coordination and management of daily staffing for the hospital's inpatient nursing units, including BEH East, North, Children's. This would include checking accuracy of all nursing inpatient unit schedules. Have a global awareness and understanding of unit complements and needs then allocate appropriate resources to meet unit needs. Including (RN's LPN's PCT's Sitters). Help manage staff call in's and finding replacement staff when possible. Manage and find sitters for units requesting sitters. Must be able communicate verbally, through email and text messaging with all levels of staff in a high level professional manner. Must function with high level computer skills with speed and accuracy in the Kronos and Navigator environment Responsible for all float pool staff's time being correctly charged out to the appropriate cost centers.
