About The Position

The Staff Veterinarian has direct veterinary responsibility for multiple Pilgrim’s complexes and works with live management across pullets/breeders, hatchery, broiler grow-out, and plant operations. The role satisfies regulatory health requirements, ensures implementation and compliance with company programs, and contributes to the Pilgrim’s Veterinary Services team. The position is based at a designated Pilgrim’s facility in St. Cloud, Minnesota; Arcadia, Wisconsin; Broadway, Virginia; Moorefield, West Virginia; Sanford or Marshville, North Carolina; Sumter, South Carolina; or Athens, Georgia. It is not a remote position.

Routine travel to assigned complexes is required, along with additional travel for live meetings, continuing education conferences, and related activities.

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree.
• Veterinary licensure and federal accreditation, with the ability to be licensed in multiple states.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Competency with the Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

• Postdoctoral training in poultry medicine.
• ACPV diplomate status.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the direct contact for bird health, animal welfare, and biosecurity across multiple Pilgrim’s complexes.
• Maintain regulatory compliance related to VFDs, prescriptions, NPIP, and USDA health and export certificates.
• Train and educate live team personnel.
• Contribute to Veterinary Services team group projects, trials, and other efforts.
• Travel routinely to assigned complexes and additionally to live meetings and continuing education conferences.
