Under general direction, participates in the planning, development, and implementation of orientation and clinical training programs for assigned units and programs, focused on the physical and mental health needs of our patients (excluding RN-specific training). Delivers training to new staff and ongoing in-service education for both clinical and non-clinical patient-facing staff. Delivers engaging, hands-on training through classroom instruction, live demonstrations, simulation and mock scenarios, small-group activities, and individualized mentoring as needed. Teaches, models, and demonstrates skills in CPR, patient/resident de-escalation, aggression management techniques, precepting new staff, and managing an acute milieu, while providing opportunities for learners to practice and apply skills in realistic situations. Assesses trainee competency and performance through observation, demonstration, and practical application exercises, providing constructive feedback to employees and supervisors/managers. Completes and maintains training documentation in the electronic learning management system and employee educational records to ensure continued readiness for accreditation. Maintains, evaluates, and updates training materials and educational resources to support effective, competency-based learning.
