About The Position

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to provide evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transition of care. This role involves working in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral. The PT will support patients throughout their journey, from admission to discharge, helping them grow and achieve their goals. The position offers opportunities for learning and growth through exposure to multiple settings and collaboration with medical staff and a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will also function as a team member, developing leadership skills through mentoring and educating students and other professionals, while supporting risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy.
• PT licensed in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

• 1 year physical therapy experience; new graduates considered
• Pediatric experience

Responsibilities

• Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care.
• Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the patient and their family.
• Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as mentoring and providing education to students and other professionals.
• Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate, thorough documentation.
