About The Position

The Industrial Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical systems, HVAC systems, and fire protection equipment. This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and comply with safety and regulatory standards. The technician will work closely with other teams to support facility operations and minimize downtime. Staff Technician, Facilities Maintenance – 1st Shift (Onsite).

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in industrial electrical systems, HVAC maintenance, and fire protection systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various industrial settings, including confined spaces and heights
  • Availability to work in shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as EPA 608 (HVAC), NICET (fire protection), or journeyman electrician license are highly desirable
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with safety standards and procedures for industrial environments

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, control panels, and motors.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using testing equipment and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation units.
  • Inspect and replace filters, belts, and other components to maintain optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
  • Test, inspect, and maintain fire detection and suppression systems, such as alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers.
  • Ensure systems meet local and national fire safety regulations.
  • Respond to system failures and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Maintain records of work performed, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial systems.
