The Staff, Technical Program Manager leads the planning and execution of multiple medium to high-complexity technology programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and shifting priorities. This role involves managing cross-functional dependencies, driving end-to-end delivery of scalable system solutions, and fostering operational excellence through effective risk management and stakeholder engagement. The position requires strong expertise in program management, technical design, and communication to deliver impactful technology initiatives while continuously improving processes and tools to support business goals and innovation within a dynamic environment. The team applies strong program and stakeholder management, decision-making, communication, and technical design expertise to ensure successful execution and continuous improvement of complex initiatives supporting Walmart’s operational goals.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in program management, including planning, execution, and risk mitigation for medium to high-complexity initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams and secure commitments across cross-functional groups.
  • Excellent communication capabilities to convey complex technical and business information clearly and concisely to varied audiences.
  • Technical knowledge of system design, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and software lifecycle processes to support end-to-end technology solutions.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to identify issues, propose alternatives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience in decision-making and negotiation to prioritize deliverables and manage dependencies effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
  • OR 7 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 3 years’ experience in product design.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

  • Monitor program progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans to maintain quality and timelines.
  • Communicate program status and risks clearly to stakeholders, fostering alignment and consensus.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance program efficiency.
  • Manage cross-functional relationships to resolve issues and drive successful outcomes.
