Staff Technical Marketing Writer
About The Position
TwelveLabs is seeking a Technical Marketing Writer to translate complex video AI technologies, Marengo and Pegasus, into engaging and accessible content for diverse audiences. This role focuses on creating content that resonates with developers, creators, AI-native builders, and marketers, rather than traditional documentation like API references or product manuals. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to simplify intricate technical concepts, such as multimodal video embeddings and video-to-text reasoning, into various formats like tutorials, plain-language explainers, and forum posts. The role requires up to 10% annual travel for business-related events and may involve on-site interviews and onboarding.
Requirements
- Experience writing technical or product content for a mix of audiences, including developers and less technical end users.
- A portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify complex technical concepts without oversimplification and to adapt writing style for different audiences.
- Sufficient technical fluency to read documentation, follow code samples, and understand engineering discussions.
- Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals.
- Strong structural writing skills for creating followable guides and tutorials.
- Comfortability in shifting between various content formats, from long-form guides to short forum posts or social captions.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with video, multimodal AI, or computer vision concepts.
- Experience writing about or using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or MCP servers, particularly explaining them to non-technical audiences.
- Experience writing for developer communities (e.g., Dev.to, Hacker News, Reddit).
- Basic comfort with Git, APIs, or SDKs, sufficient for self-testing before writing.
Responsibilities
- Write blog posts, guides, video outlines, and tutorials for audiences ranging from developers to creators to AI-native builders to understand and use TwelveLabs' products.
- Manage SEO and on-page optimization for content, collaborating with external SEO and web development support.
- Create educational resources (explainers, how-tos, conceptual overviews) to simplify video AI for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Write technical articles for external placement on developer forums, industry publications, and news sites.
- Support email and social media copy where technical accuracy and product nuance are critical.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and partner marketing teams to stay informed about TwelveLabs' capabilities and future direction, including model integration in tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and MCP servers.
- Monitor competitor and industry communication regarding video AI technology to refine TwelveLabs' messaging.
