About The Position

The Engineering Project Assistant (EPA) will be responsible for assisting software and systems engineers with administrative, documentation, process, and general engineering related support activities. Individuals must demonstrate the ability to support several engineers, providing a wide variety of administrative and computer skills to assist engineering projects. Assignments typically include preliminary document formatting and preparation utilizing computing resources with a variety of applications. The EPA performs as the primary engineering support focal point for inquiries and problem resolution during the artifact pre-release phase, and supports the release and revision phases of the engineering development cycle. The role also involves performing project non-technical duties and serving as a process and tool expert for engineering design teams. The candidate must possess the ability to coordinate and lead activities, along with strong organization and analytical skills.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint and O365 Outlook
  • Prior experience working on teams in a collaborative environment
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Edits format of software/systems documentation.
  • Verifies change requests are in the proper state and implements into documentation.
  • Performs data conversion using various application media for software development or project file maintenance.
  • Provides tools expertise and support to Engineering: MS Office Apps, requirements capture databases, change management and tracking tools.
  • Generate reports as required.
  • Interfaces with engineers and engineering managers to create/edit documentation.
  • Ensures compliance with the Third-Party Intellectual Property process.
  • Collects metrics and supports the preparation of presentation materials for analysis.
  • Works with Engineering to train on processes and tools.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous process improvements.
  • Assists in tracking action items and tasks in the change management process.
  • Supports the Bid & Proposal process, assisting in bid narratives and bid reviews.
  • Acts as primary focal and liaison for program support, across engineering and other departments.
  • Networks with both internal and external personnel at multiple levels.
  • Works with engineering teams to effectively resolve issues.
  • Edits format of required documentation.
  • Prepares presentations.
  • Coordinates the interaction of project/program team and support functions to communicate schedule and status.
  • Facilitates internal and/or external meetings.
  • SW/media release coordination.
  • Audit support.

  • DoD Common Access Card (CAC) management.
  • Monthly inventory and management of integration/ship rider equipment.
  • Collects inputs from programs team to support Engineering Program Reviews (EPRs) and Estimates at Completion (EACs).
  • Participates in status meetings.
  • SharePoint access management.
  • Engineering metrics collection and familiarity with process/RTX Lifecycle Program Management (RLPM) rollout.
  • Requirements management support.
  • Change Control Board (CCB) coordination/meeting minutes/tracking/action items.
