About The Position

General Motors is seeking an experienced Staff Systems Engineer to lead autonomous vehicle (AV) system architecture initiatives across one or more products and functional areas. The role is part of the Architecture and System Design team, which works across requirements definition, architecture and system design, integration, and validation to support safe, reliable autonomous and assisted driving experiences. The engineer will define and manage system-level requirements and architectures, optimize resource allocation across computing and networking subsystems, and collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate vehicle-platform components. The position is highly collaborative, strategic, and technical, with influence over platform roadmaps and long-term technical direction. The role is categorized as remote, with the selected candidate required to live in an approved city in the assigned territory or relocate there by the timeline provided at offer. Travel is expected to be less than 25%. Relocation benefits are available to eligible candidates.
