Verizon•Irving, TX
•$137,000 - $263,000•Hybrid

About The Position

As a Distinguished Engineer in Verizon’s Network & Technology IT organization, you will serve as the domain expert in Network Service Assurance and drive autonomous, intent-driven network operations for global management teams. You will build AI-driven agentic workflows, integrate wireless and wireline surveillance, correlation, and ticketing systems, and incorporate third-party tools. You will lead end-to-end program delivery across network engineering and provisioning, using legacy and modern solutions, and provide technical thought leadership during ideation and requirements sessions. You will lead architecture and development for alarm and event processing, correlation, and automation. The role includes DevSecOps leadership and modernization of legacy workflow, correlation, and automation systems to cloud-native Standard Operating Environment (SOE) standards. Working with Centralized and Enterprise Architecture teams, you will align solutions, domain boundaries, and high-level architecture principles, and partner with development teams across Planning, Engineering, Inventory, and Workflow/Orchestration to align high-level designs and API definitions and deliver work with cross-functional partners. The position covers end-to-end architecture for core modules including UFM, UWA, and SA360/UTP; modernization of legacy alarm processing, ticketing, and jBPM workflows into event-driven microservices; and definition of API, resiliency, observability, and self-healing standards. You will guide development execution and code quality, work with senior executives and cross-functional teams, support organizational change, conduct design reviews, mentor architects and development leads, and provide technical guidance across provisioning and service qualification domains. You will also align teams and vendors to a shared technical direction, contribute to continuous delivery, agile planning, solution definition, demos, and Inspect & Adapt events, and lead programs focused on process optimization and technology adoption. You will deliver full-lifecycle solution architecture from definition through go-live across logical, technical, and physical views; define reusable components, schemas, standards, and tools; and promote modern engineering practices and technologies, including AI, LLMs, and ARG, across the product architecture ecosystem. This is a hybrid role with a defined work location, including work from home and at least three days per week in the office. The annual salary range is $137,000 to $263,000, depending on location, skills, and experience. The position is incentive-based and may offer additional compensation.
