About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) division is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join their team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position supports the Advanced Radar Systems (ARS) business unit and will be located in Baltimore, MD. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience; or 10 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree; or 7 years of relevant experience with a Ph.D. 4 additional years may be considered in lieu of a degree
U.S Citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
Expert in leading a multi-disciplinary team environment
Expert verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate internally and external team members
Strong understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and execution
Knowledge and experience with RF Hardware and test equipment
Knowledge and experience with Agile principles, tools, and implementation
Ability to qualify for program access based on customer requirements (SAP/SAR)
This position is contingent upon transfer of DoD Secret Clearance with Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.

Nice To Haves

Experience in scope definition, project planning, team leadership, cross-discipline interaction, and program mentorship
Experience as Technical lead, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function
Experience executing the engineering project life cycle including: requirements analysis, design, development, integration, validation, verification, and sustainment
Advanced working knowledge of EO/IR, Radar, or SIGINT technical principles, theories, and concepts.
Knowledge and experience in experimental Flight Test planning and execution
Experience in managing teams that are responsible for Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) subsystem operational control
Experience with MATLAB coding, test scripting, data analysis and signal processing
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex HW/SW integration problems

Responsibilities

Customer and program management office (PMO) point of contact for all systems integration & test activities regarding technical details and effort progression
Managing technical experts and subordinates, ensuring team has resources required to complete tasks
Lead integration, testing & troubleshooting for radar systems engineering program(s) including mode integration and flight test, qualification test, acceptance testing, and design verification testing
Drive technical decisions and issue resolutions, as well as manage risks and opportunities
Support cross-functional engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases
Supporting proposal development and new program acquisition efforts
Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership
Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing
Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
Manage teams that drive system/subsystem qualification and acceptance test activities
Engineering design verification tests (DVTs)
Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Software Qualification (SQT) tests
Acceptance Testing (ATPs)
Safety of Flight (SoF) testing
