About The Position

Fluke Calibration is seeking an experienced Staff Systems Engineer to provide system-level technical leadership for Electrical Calibration (ECAL) products. This role involves sustaining industry-leading calibrators while defining architectures for next-generation platforms. The engineer will own end-to-end system behavior across hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, and service, serving as the technical authority for architectural decisions, risk management, and long-term product integrity across multi-decade lifecycles. This position requires strong technical judgment and cross-functional influence to balance metrology performance with manufacturability, supply-chain longevity, and serviceability in partnership with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • Extensive experience in system‑level design and technical leadership for complex electronic products.
  • Strong foundation in precision analog and digital electronics, control systems, and calibration or measurement systems.
  • Proven ability to lead technical direction across disciplines without direct managerial authority.
  • Experience working with microprocessors, DSPs, FPGAs, and laboratory instrumentation (DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, calibrators).
  • Strong technical documentation, review, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and sustaining test, measurement, or calibration products with long service lifetimes.
  • Familiarity with global compliance and safety standards (e.g., CE, FCC, RoHS, IEC 61010).
  • Experience supporting manufacturing scale‑up, factory transitions, or long‑term supply chain strategies.
  • Demonstrated history of solving ambiguous, system‑level technical problems with durable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve system architectures for sustaining and next-generation ECAL platforms.
  • Serve as technical authority for tradeoffs (accuracy, stability, control, thermals, cost, risk, and supportability).
  • Guide architecture across Electrical, Firmware, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Service.
  • Define, document, and manage system requirements that translate customer, regulatory, and metrology needs into executable designs.
  • Ensure requirements traceability from concept through verification, production, and sustaining.
  • Lead system‑level design reviews and provide technical direction on complex or ambiguous problems.
  • Provide senior technical leadership for sustaining programs, including component EOL mitigation, factory transfers, performance improvements, and field issue resolution.
  • Ensure system integrity and calibration performance are preserved across design changes and manufacturing updates.
  • Act as a key knowledge steward for long‑lived platforms, supporting onboarding and technical continuity.
  • Ensure system designs are robust, manufacturable, and verifiable, supporting low‑volume / high‑mix production environments.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams to define test strategies, calibration flows, and service models.
  • Support verification and validation activities to ensure products meet Fluke standards for accuracy, safety, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to align technical decisions with business and customer priorities.
  • Influence without authority across multiple teams and sites, including global development and manufacturing partners.
  • Communicate complex system concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
