This role supports the USSTRATCOM Nuclear Mission, where Lockheed Martin has over 30 years of involvement, providing innovative mission software solutions. The position is within Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems, working with USSTRATCOM software teams to develop Planning and Command and Control (C2) capabilities for the Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES) in a DevSecOps environment. The successful candidate will contribute to creating modern Web-based, Java mission systems for the Nuclear community, requiring experience with software systems built to exacting standards and delivered via a DevSecOps cadence using Agile Scrum. As a full-time Systems Architect, you will collaborate with Government engineers to understand system environments for new mission capabilities, designing and documenting architectures that guide developers. Your designs must emphasize cybersecurity, performance, and reliability to ensure software components meet mission objectives.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM field
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access
  • Experience with MBSE, SysML, or Cameo
  • Experience designing system-to-system interfaces using REST, Kafka, and databases
  • Experience with large-scale, complex, SW-based systems
  • Experience briefing design solutions to stakeholders at various levels of technical capability

Nice To Haves

  • Agile experience using Atlassian Tools
  • USSTRATCOM mission insight (Intel, Planning, or C2)
  • Cybersecurity insights and experience evaluating vulnerabilities, threats, and risks
  • Engineering experience with AFNWC SMPES, MPAS, NPES Systems

Responsibilities

  • Work with Govt engineers to understand the systems environment for new mission capabilities
