Requirements

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field, plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Experience designing and managing scalable NFS storage solutions for high-availability application environments (3 years)
Experience orchestrating cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform for consistency and automation (2 years)
Experience establishing robust data protection strategies using AWS Backup, including regular validation of backup restorability (3 years)
Experience supporting architectural activities related to various Databases/Application platforms (2 years)
Experience with NetApp ONTAP 7-mode and cDOT administration (2 years)
Experience with Object Storage, NFS and iSCSI (3 years)
Experience with Cloud Computing (3 years)
Experience with Unix administration (2 years)
Experience with at least 2 of the following automation tools/languages: terraform, python, shell, ansible (3 years)
Experience with Virtualization and Containerization (3 years)
Experience with Observability: Datadog or Grafana (1 year)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with various IT teams to align software storage solutions with business needs and implement best practices in data management and protection.
Build, scale, and secure applications for PayPal’s Payment infrastructure platform.
Work in a collaborative technical environment consisting of Linux systems and enterprise storage solutions.
Apply modern engineering methodologies for product infrastructure, coding, storage, and containerization for new products and features.
Develop web-based platform applications enabling better data storage.
Lead critical storage projects to build scalable solutions for PayPal applications.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior storage engineers and other IT staff during development and testing phases.
Oversee the deployment of storage solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Work with IT management and the Finance team on budget planning and cost management for storage solutions.
Engage with vendors and suppliers for procurement and support of storage technologies.
Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to ensure there are adequate software storage resources to support business growth.
