About The Position

Staff Support Specialist will be working with and taking direction from the ELOP after-school program team. We are looking for a Staff Support Specialist to enhance the competencies of all ELOP line staff by designing and conducting training that will boost employees’ workplace performance. This person will be responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing and delivering modules, learning materials, and managing all phases of staff support.

Requirements

  • Ability to design, facilitate, and implement staff trainings across multiple TCF and ELOP program sites.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with the ability to support staff development and performance improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, school personnel, partner agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with computers and common business software, including Microsoft Office and related program management systems.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and implement verbal and written instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and organizational needs.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess at least 48 semester college units, a county paraprofessional certificate, or successful completion of the Paraeducator Exam.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and be able to travel between program locations as needed.
  • Must successfully pass DOJ/FBI background clearance and meet all district and agency employment requirements.
  • Must obtain and maintain all required clearances, certifications, and trainings.
  • TB clearance required.
  • Mandated Reporter Training required (provided by TCF).
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training required (provided by TCF).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with youth in an educational, after-school, or related setting preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and youth development skills preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all site and organizational sign-in, sign-out, and attendance procedures, including EZ Report requirements.
  • Collaborate with Program Facilitators, Coordinators, and partner agencies to identify staff development needs and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support.
  • Design, prepare, and deliver individual and group trainings for new and existing staff, including onboarding, professional development, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Conduct staff observations, evaluate performance and training effectiveness, develop support plans, and recommend adjustments to improve staff success.
  • Create and maintain training materials, resources, and tools that support staff development and program quality.
  • Support staff with classroom management, activity planning, scheduling, and implementation of ELOP program expectations.
  • Communicate staff concerns, performance issues, and program needs to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner and submit required reports and weekly recaps.
  • Stay current on best practices, trends, and tools related to youth development, after-school programming, and employee training.
  • Support TCF and ELOP trainings, meetings, professional development opportunities, programs, events, and organization-wide initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
