As a Firmware Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing controller firmware for advanced memory systems and SSDs. You will work closely with engineers across multiple disciplines to investigate issues, improve performance, and bring new technologies to market. This role offers the opportunity to contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from design and implementation to debugging and root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with 8+ years of industry experience
  • Experience developing embedded firmware using C for resource-constrained systems
  • Experience debugging firmware and performing fault analysis in hardware-software environments
  • Knowledge of RTOS, memory management, compilers, and low-level system architectures
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the storage industry, including SSDs, or enterprise storage systems
  • Knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, NAND flash, and other non-volatile memory technologies
  • Experience programming in C++, assembly language, scripting languages, and related development tools
  • Experience with DDR interfaces and high-performance storage controller architectures
  • Experience using AI-based tools for code generation, code analysis, and root cause analysis

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, and enhance firmware for memory controllers and SSD solutions
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware, hardware, and system-level issues
  • Perform bench testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations using AI-assisted tools where appropriate
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to isolate issues and drive product improvements
  • Create and maintain firmware design documentation and technical specifications
