Datadog•New York, NY
•$244,000 - $305,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Datadog is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help shape its anomaly detection platform. The team builds and operates high-scale distributed systems that process streaming and batch data and work alongside machine learning systems to automatically identify potential issues in customer environments. As these capabilities expand across Datadog products, the role will help define technical direction, evolve architecture, and build systems that surface meaningful insights to customers without requiring manual configuration. The position involves solving complex engineering challenges at scale and influencing a platform that powers critical customer experiences. The role leads the architecture and evolution of distributed systems for automated anomaly detection, improves high-throughput streaming and batch pipelines, and drives initiatives to modernize existing systems. It also contributes to the long-term technical strategy for anomaly detection and its integration with alerting, shaping how capabilities are delivered across Datadog products. The engineer provides technical leadership across teams and aligns architectural decisions with broader product and platform goals. Datadog describes its workplace as hybrid, with office culture intended to foster collaboration, relationships, and creativity. The company offers a competitive salary and equity package, potentially including variable compensation. Compensation depends on skills, qualifications, and experience. The stated salary range is $244,000–$305,000 USD per year.
