Starburst is hiring a backend engineer for its Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. The team builds data governance experiences focused on security, performance, ease of use, and flexibility across authentication and authorization systems. Its work includes developing industry-standard authentication tooling and making access-control capabilities—such as RBAC, ABAC, data classification, and tagging—fast, powerful, and simple to use. The engineer will design, develop, and operate IAM features for Starburst Galaxy and the Starburst Enterprise Platform (SEP). The role includes developing product features, supporting production systems, building tools, collaborating across teams and with stakeholders, and contributing throughout the product lifecycle. The position is based in Starburst’s Boston office and follows a hybrid model, with an expectation of being onsite one to two days per week. Occasional travel may be required for onboarding, offsites, customer engagements, and company events.
