About The Position

A venture-backed, commercial-stage medical device company is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the imaging pipeline behind its clinical results. The role focuses on developing and operating cloud-based medical imaging workflows, building targeting algorithms and AI methods, improving pipeline performance, and expanding its clinical applications. The engineer will work within medical device design controls and mentor other engineers. The position is onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area. The stated pay range is $190,000–$280,000, plus bonus and equity. Mural Group is recruiting for the role on behalf of a client.

Requirements

At least 5 years of software engineering experience, much of it involving imaging or scientific data.
Expertise in Python and Git.
Experience with MRI data formats such as DICOM and NIfTI, and quality control.
Experience with neuroimaging toolkits such as ITK, ANTs, FSL, or FreeSurfer.
Strong scientific computing and statistics skills, and experience taking machine learning into production.
A master's degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or mathematics, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AWS Batch and GPUs.
Knowledge of IEC 62304.
Deep learning experience for medical imaging.

Responsibilities

Own the cloud imaging pipeline, including ingestion, registration, segmentation, and analysis.
Develop targeting algorithms and AI methods.
Run and scale the pipeline on AWS using containers and infrastructure as code.
Reduce runtime and extend the pipeline to new clinical uses.
Work within medical device design controls.
Mentor engineers.
