Staff Software Engineer

Axon•Boston, MA
•$168,750 - $270,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Axon’s Real Time Operations division builds situational-awareness software for emergency responders. The Staff Software Engineer will lead the design and development of critical cloud, web, and mobile systems for a real-time crime center application. The application ingests real-time signals from devices at scale and brings geo-located data and other feeds together on a map so responders can focus on the information most relevant to an incident. The role works closely with device, backend, frontend, communications, application, customer, and third-party teams to source device data and streaming media, and to deliver the information users need to make decisions. As a technical leader, the engineer will advise the division on long-term technical investments, collaborate with senior engineers, and mentor and develop future technical leaders. Customer empathy and collaboration with product and design are important to balancing business and engineering priorities. The position is based in Axon’s Boston office on a hybrid schedule: onsite Tuesday through Friday, with remote work on Mondays unless an approved workplace accommodation applies. It reports to the Director of Engineering.
