About The Position

InPost is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Test to raise quality across its mobile app and backend domain by influencing how teams design, ship, and trust software. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on testability, reliability, quality gates, and building a culture in which engineers own quality. The role sets technical direction across multiple teams while contributing directly to code, tooling, prototypes, reference implementations, and complex incidents when needed. The position covers quality architecture and engineering, technical leadership and coaching, and AI governance. The role defines quality and reliability strategy across API and contract layers and native iOS and Android clients; improves release confidence and manages device and OS fragmentation and test flakiness; and drives cross-team quality issues to resolution. It shifts quality ownership earlier into engineering workflows, mentors senior engineers, facilitates knowledge-sharing, co-shapes domain technical direction with the SEM, and uses metrics to communicate risk to engineering and product stakeholders. It also defines responsible AI adoption, workflows, governance, and data-security standards for engineering and quality work, assesses risks, mentors engineers, and reports on AI ROI. InPost operates an e-commerce parcel delivery platform across nine European countries, with a network of automated parcel machines and pickup/drop-off points, as well as courier and fulfilment services. The role offers a flexible working model with remote options in Poland and is offered on a B2B contract.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
  • Track record operating at Staff, Principal, Tech Lead, or Architect level, with proven impact beyond a single team.
  • Experience testing at least one mobile platform (iOS or Android), including commercial, working-level experience testing native mobile apps using standard approaches.
  • Deep ownership of quality and reliability as an engineering discipline, including setting standards and designing quality strategy with measurable results.
  • Experience shifting quality left by entering processes before code is written and measurably improving outcomes.
  • Strong hands-on engineering foundation, including the ability to read, review, and write production-quality code.
  • Experience leading technical and process change directly with development teams.
  • Hands-on, critical engagement with AI, including using it and assessing its risks.
  • Fluent English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BrowserStack and CI/CD, especially GitLab.
  • Snapshot testing experience, such as swift-snapshot-testing or Paparazzi.
  • Experience introducing mock-based testing standards.
  • Experience in logistics or e-commerce.
  • Fluency in Polish.
  • Familiarity with Appium.
  • Experience applying AI in engineering or testing workflows.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineer certification.

Responsibilities

  • Set and own quality and reliability strategy across the domain, from API and contract layers through native iOS and Android clients.
  • Design for testability and release confidence, including quality gates in release and store-deployment pipelines, device and OS-version coverage, and large-scale flakiness control.
  • Strengthen the backend, API, and contract layer and connect it effectively to mobile clients.
  • Drive resolution of quality and reliability issues that cross team boundaries.
  • Contribute hands-on to the codebase through prototypes, tooling, reference implementations, and complex incident work.
  • Shift quality ownership left into engineering workflows and engage teams before implementation begins.
  • Mentor senior engineers across the domain and support their development.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing through tech talks, workshops, documentation, and pairing; co-lead the OneTech community.
  • Co-shape domain technical direction with the SEM and analyze quality trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Define quality and reliability metrics and gates, and frame risk in business terms for EMs, SEMs, and PMs.
  • Define domain approaches to AI adoption for quality and engineering productivity, including tools and workflows.
  • Design AI-assisted workflows and establish governance and data-security standards across teams.
  • Assess and manage AI-use risks, including in production-facing work; mentor engineers in responsible AI use and report on ROI.

Benefits

  • International, cross-functional environment with experienced engineering leaders.
  • Opportunity to work on products used by millions of users across Europe.
  • Ownership and influence over teams, technical direction, and long-term solutions.
  • Flexible working model with remote options in Poland.
  • Engineering culture focused on quality, collaboration, and impact.
