  • Significant experience in systems/infrastructure engineering, with deep, hands-on expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or an equivalent language
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, GitHub, and Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK preferred, Terraform acceptable)
  • Experience designing and implementing backup strategy, data architecture, and disaster recovery for cloud systems
  • Experience implementing and maintaining logging and monitoring/observability solutions
  • Security-minded, with experience implementing and maintaining security guardrails in engineering workflows

  • Familiarity with collaboration and workflow tooling such as Linear/Jira and Databricks
  • Familiarity with AI governance practices and frameworks (e.g., ISO 42001) for managing AI systems responsibly
  • Understanding of AI security risks and mitigations (e.g., model/data access controls, prompt injection, secure use of AI tooling)

Nice To Haves

  • Security-minded by default, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risk
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for systems end to end
  • Clear communicator who collaborates effectively across engineering, security, and compliance
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Pragmatic problem-solver who balances speed with reliability and security
  • Acts as an enabler for other engineers, building platforms, tools, and guardrails that make it easier for teams to ship safely and quickly
  • Collaborative by nature, building strong working relationships across engineering, security, and compliance to get to the best outcome together

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate secure, highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS supporting TaxBit's platform and products
  • Own infrastructure-as-code using AWS CDK (preferred) or Terraform, driving consistency, repeatability, and version control across environments
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/GitHub Actions) to enable safe, frequent, and reliable deployments
  • Define and implement TaxBit's backup and disaster recovery strategy across cloud data stores and critical systems
  • Architect and evolve data storage and processing patterns that support scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Implement and maintain centralized logging, monitoring, and observability across services and infrastructure
  • Implement and maintain security guardrails integrated throughout the development lifecycle
  • Build workflow automation that reduces manual toil in infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operations
  • Debug and resolve complex issues across distributed, cloud-native systems, driving root-cause analysis and durable fixes
  • Implement AI Ops/AI DevOps practices to deploy, monitor, and operate AI-enabled systems and pipelines in production
