Aetna Resources LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Scottsdale, AZ: Staff Software Development Engineer to design and develop software applications and platforms to support digital strategies and solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Five (5) years of experience in XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Angular, React, jQuery, or Ajax.
  • Five (5) years of experience in SQL or SAS.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Claimsbased PCP reassignment expanding the system’s flexibility and intelligence for Medicaid plans.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Rule logic to support dynamic PCP assignment based on age, gender, family relationships, panel size, and historical PCP data.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Designing and implementing a real-time file tracking application for Medicaid, monitoring inbound and outbound file exchanges with states and vendors, integrated with MFT/FTP systems and aligned with all Medicaid application designs.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Medicaid file transfer issues, enabling proactive resolution and operational transparency for business, IT, and support teams.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Developing backend services, performing code reviews, and collaborating with peers on software development solutions.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Healthcare data management processes and techniques, including data standards, interoperability, and proper data privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Serve as the Technical Architect of the AssignADoc product, leading its end-to-end design and development for PCP assignment across all Medicaid health plans.
  • Contribute as a co-inventor on the AssignADoc application, which is applied for U.S. patenting, recognizing the originality and strategic value of the solution.
  • Design and maintain a service-based architecture that intelligently assigns high-quality providers from external systems, ensuring optimal member-provider matching.
  • Support all Medicaid health plans for provider assignment, ensuring consistency, adaptability, and compliance with diverse state-specific requirements.
  • Engineer core components such as Rules engine which automate and streamline PCP assignment workflows.
  • Integrate external APIs (e.g., Google Distance Matrix) to calculate driving distances and enhance member experience through intelligent provider matching.
  • Automate QNXT updates with real-time status tracking, error handling, and audit-ready reporting to improve transparency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Determine feasibility of solutions design and prepare technical design documentation.
  • Upgrade existing software applications and/or systems to improve functionality and features with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Write and review high quality code and perform unit and/or automation testing.
  • Develop and deploy application components and support unit testing and bug fixes.
  • Participate in AGILE Scrum meetings and/or CI/CD.
  • Support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on applications development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices.
  • Independently lead development of solutions with high complexity and risk.
