Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible. The Staff Scientist is responsible for new NGS assay product development and on market product support. General duties include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, followed by communicating those results to both internal and external groups. This position reports to the Associate Director R&D and is part of the Assay Development team located in Boulder, CO and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Develop new products using a combination of wet-lab and dry-lab skillsets Support on market Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) products as a subject matter expert Present experimental demonstrations of products at scientific conferences

Requirements

• M.Sc. in a life sciences field or related discipline and 8+ years experience with NGS product development, or Ph.D. with 5+ years NGS product development experience
• Experience in wet-lab work preparing nucleic acids for NGS
• Experience in dry-lab programming for NGS data analysis
• Foundational knowledge of human genetics, cancer biology, and statistics
• Industry experience developing and supporting NGS products with software components
• Experience developing bioinformatics workflows for NGS assays for non-technical users
