Mindray is seeking a Staff Scientist (Imaging) to advance ultrasound imaging performance and image quality across its premium medical imaging systems. The role focuses on optimizing imaging control parameters and transducer performance to support high-quality clinical imaging. The scientist will work with imaging scientists, engineers, and clinical sonographers to refine system performance and explore approaches that advance ultrasound technology. The position includes probe-specific optimization of imaging parameters across modes such as B-mode and color Doppler; applying acoustics or related expertise to improve transducer performance; configuring parameters through SQL databases; and using theoretical modeling, MATLAB simulations, and experimental testing. Work also includes measurements with imaging phantoms and human subjects in controlled research and clinical environments, development of signal-processing algorithms and simulation tools, and technical documentation. The role is primarily office-based, using standard laboratory and office equipment. Work is mostly sedentary, with occasional standing or walking during testing or collaboration. Infrequent travel may be required, approximately one to two clinical trips per year.
