Staff Scientist

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center•Seattle, WA

About The Position

The Cohn Laboratory in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center studies how human immunity is established, maintained, and remodeled by infection over a lifetime. The laboratory investigates differences in individuals’ ability to control infection and how immune memory is shaped by age and repeated exposure, using laboratory techniques and computational analyses to characterize hosts and pathogens. The Staff Scientist will lead studies of human immune memory and immune control in longitudinal cohorts. The position is responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing high-resolution sequencing and single-cell immune profiling of clinical samples. The Staff Scientist will take primary scientific responsibility for one or more cohort studies, develop methods to extend the laboratory’s sequencing approaches to new pathogens and immunology questions, mentor graduate students and technical staff, and contribute to manuscripts and grant applications as a senior author and co-investigator. The position reports directly to Dr. Cohn.
