About The Position

The Choi Lab in the Department of Medicine, Division of Oncology, is seeking a Staff Scientist with expertise in Transplant Immunology focused on T cells. The role involves working on T cell biology in mouse models of diseases such as graft-vs-host disease (GvHD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). The research utilizes unbiased genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 guide RNA library screens and whole kinome analyses to identify novel therapeutic targets like VLDLR, GAS6/TAM, and PKN1. The goal is to separate inflammatory diseases from beneficial immune responses, such as graft-vs-leukemia/tumor effects, and anti-tumor and anti-infection responses. The Staff Scientist will design research protocols, assist in developing and conducting research projects, including experiment design, data analysis, and documentation of results.
