The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has an opening for a staff scientist II to be the Director of Sleep Research within the Department’s Psychophysiology and Sleep Research Unit (PSRU). PSRU is a resource for investigators conducting NIH- and Industry-sponsored trials using polysomnography (PSG) and electroencephalography (EEG). Candidates who have a strong background in sleep research and in conducting PSGs, multiple sleep latency tests and/or multiple wake tests are encouraged to apply. The candidate will be expected to work with other investigators to develop and grow the PSRU sleep research portfolio, work independently to manage and maintain the PSRU sleep lab, providing oversight of the sleep techs, equipment and supplies. They will be responsible for staffing all sleep studies as well as the financial management and oversight of the sleep lab. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and independent, with a primary goal to grow sleep research in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
