About The Position

The Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Staff Scientist with significant experience in human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and iPSC-derived neuronal models to join the Stem Cell Core. This position is open to stem cell biologists seeking a role within a translational research setting with a focus on hiPSC-based modeling of neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. This position is housed within a team that establishes and maintains cell line resources and develops and implements hiPSC differentiation protocols into various brain cell types. The staff member will also contribute to ongoing, team-based research projects as part of mission-relevant Institute initiatives. Candidates should have extensive training in hiPSC culture and hiPSC-based neuronal modeling, and experience in disease modeling with large cohorts of iPSC lines is highly desirable. Responsibilities include cell culture, wet bench experiments, and data collection and analysis, as well as assisting with day-to-day Stem Cell Core management and scientific communication.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to independently resolve technical challenges
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills, with ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

Nice To Haves

  • hiPSC-derived brain organoid culture
  • Genome engineering of hiPSCs and derived cell types
