The Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Staff Scientist with significant experience in human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and iPSC-derived neuronal models to join the Stem Cell Core. This position is ideal for stem cell biologists looking for a role in a translational research setting focused on hiPSC-based modeling of neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. The role involves establishing and maintaining cell line resources, developing and implementing hiPSC differentiation protocols into various brain cell types, and contributing to ongoing, team-based research projects. Candidates should possess extensive training in hiPSC culture and hiPSC-based neuronal modeling, with experience in disease modeling using large cohorts of iPSC lines being highly desirable. Responsibilities include cell culture, wet bench experiments, data collection and analysis, assisting with Stem Cell Core management, and scientific communication.
