About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

According to department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care services to patients and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients. As a High Reliability Organization, OhioHealth requires a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties. Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required at five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments appropriate to the population or individual.
• Documents planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluates and documents responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Works as part of a multidisciplinary team and revises plans of care based on evaluative data.
• Participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Performs operational duties.
• Focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency when performing job duties.
• Delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
