About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

This position is part of the Observation Unit 1. The scheduled work shift is day, for 24 hours per week. BSN is required after five years of employment.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio, or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required at five years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments appropriate to the patient population and individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals; revise the plan of care with the multidisciplinary team based on evaluation data.
• Participate in process improvement activities targeting clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Carry out operational responsibilities.
• Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing job duties.
• Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
