About The Position

The Staff RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. The role demonstrates competency in delivering care to a primarily adult patient population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job description incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). This is an onsite position at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position is 0.600 FTE, with 24 standard hours per week, working Shift 1 every Saturday and Sunday. It is part of a weekend program with one weekend off per quarter. The department is Neuro ICU.

Requirements

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing qualifying the individual for RN licensure.
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a multistate nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider, or an AHA-approved equivalent, required within 90 days of hire.
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of hire.
Newly hired or transferred RNs without a BSN or higher nursing degree and with less than one year of RN experience must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited BSN or higher nursing degree program within 15 months of hire or transfer, and complete the program within five years of enrollment. Exceptions and alternate nursing-degree pathways are specified in the posting.
