About The Position

Saint Joseph’s Medical Center is seeking a full-time Staff Nurse (RN) for its Specialty Clinic. The role requires demonstrated core nursing and primary-care competencies appropriate to the patient population. The nurse will care for adults, pediatric, geriatric, and pregnant patients across specialties including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Podiatry, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Orthopedic Surgery, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, and Allergy.

The position combines clinical assessment and treatment with care navigation, medication and supply coordination, patient communication, education, and wellness planning. The nurse also maintains patient privacy and helps ensure the clinical suite meets safety and presentation standards.

Requirements

• NYS RN License.
• Graduation from an RN program.
• BLS certification required.
• Demonstrated skills in core and primary-care-specific competencies based on the patient population served.
• Experience with adults, pediatric, geriatric, and pregnant patients in the listed specialties.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient histories, complete physical assessments, triage patients to determine medical needs, initiate interventions as needed, and provide care based on provider orders and medical conditions.
• Monitor and track patient responses to treatments and manage urgent or emergent complications.
• Conduct pre-visit planning to ensure test results are returned before appointments.
• Oversee specialized pharmacy or supply coordination for patients.
• Coordinate personalized care, including multi-specialty referrals, private diagnostic testing, and scheduling.
• Manage high-volume, priority patient communications through phone, secure client portals, and direct messaging with rapid response times.
• Deliver customized wellness, anti-aging, or post-operative care plans with detailed, individualized instructions.
• Maintain strict patient privacy, uphold hospitality standards, and ensure the clinical suite meets safety and presentation requirements.
